What is a doula?

A Doula is there to provide support, comfort and to advocate for families in all kinds of situations. Doulas provide non-judgmental care for all types of birthing experiences and parental choices. The services offered by a doula vary greatly according to the needs of the women, couple or family that she is working with. Doulas do not take a clinical role and work alongside midwives and doctors. They do not advise, but can support a woman to find balanced information to make informed decisions about her maternity care.
Birth doulas provide continuous support, for women and couples, through pregnancy, labour and birth and the immediate postnatal time. Postnatal doulas provide flexible practical and emotional support postnatally for new mothers and families in their own homes.

I provide emotional and practical support throughout pregnancy through birth and into the postnatal period.

A bit about me.

Picture
My name is Holly. I live in the New Forest with my husband Rene and our 3 sons.
I grew up in East Boldre near Beaulieu but 14 years ago I moved to the Netherlands to live with Rene. We got married and had our 3 boys and in 2018 we moved back to the area.
I am passionate about the care that we receive during and after birth. As a woman who has suffered multiple miscarriage's, undergone hormone treatment and had a multiple pregnancy, I feel that I can use those experiences to assist and support you. After birth, I have also had the worries of my children having different health problems, so I can relate to some of  your fears and concerns' that you may have, I want to reassure you, support you and help guide you through this new and exciting phase in your life.
